Judge Resigns After Threatening to Shoot Black Teens

A New York State Supreme Court judge, Erin P. Gall, resigned from her $232,600-a-year position after a tumultuous incident at her son’s graduation party. The incident, which unfolded in July 2022, involved a series of escalating arguments and physical altercations that began when uninvited guests arrived. The situation worsened when four Black teenagers joined the fray. While the teenagers’ precise role in the initial fighting remained unclear, their presence coincided with a significant escalation in the conflict.
