Popular weight loss and diabetes drugs linked to increased risk of rare form of blindness
I can’t help but feel a mix of shock and amusement when I read about the recent study linking popular weight loss and diabetes drugs to an increased risk of a rare form of blindness. The findings are certainly alarming, but as with any medical study, we must approach the results with caution and critical thinking. The study itself acknowledges that it cannot definitively prove a causal relationship between these medications and the rare eye condition known as NAION.
