Governor Josh Stein condemned the flag, stating it does not represent the North Carolina he loves, and his office confirmed its removal. Mt. Olive Pickles cited its company values of human dignity, opportunity, and freedom as reasons for their withdrawal, asserting they were unaware of the flag’s presence in exhibit videos. The fair was sponsored by Freedom 250, an organization established by President Donald Trump to manage events commemorating the nation’s 250th anniversary.
