Wife Sacrifices Self Protecting Daughter in Lawmaker’s Assassination Attempt
Minnesota Senator John Hoffman and his wife, Yvette, were victims of a late-night shooting at their home, described by Governor Walz as a politically motivated assassination attempt. Yvette Hoffman heroically shielded their daughter from the gunfire, sustaining injuries while protecting her. The attack also resulted in the deaths of Representative Melissa Hortman and her husband. Senator Hoffman and his wife are currently stable, recovering from surgery.
