As a Type 1 Diabetic, reading the story of a man suffering a diabetic emergency who was subjected to police violence at Walmart sends chills down my spine. It hits close to home, as I have experienced severe lows that leave me disoriented and unable to comprehend my surroundings. Plane passenger dies after ‘liters of blood’ erupt from his mouth and nose. This headline caught my attention and reminded me of a personal experience that I had in the emergency room.
