The New York Times faced criticism for publishing a story about mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani’s racial self-identification, sourced from an individual known for promoting “race science.” The Times article focused on Mamdani’s college application where he listed multiple races, and he explained his background as an American born in Africa. Controversy arose, however, due to the source, identified as Jordan Lasker, who the Times described as an academic. Reports show Lasker regularly defends race scientists and their arguments of racial inequality, using IQ tests to suggest inferiority. Critics argue that the Times downplayed Lasker’s extreme views and gave him anonymity, making the article questionable.

Recent polls show President Trump’s approval rating has significantly dropped, falling into the thirties in some surveys. Trump responded on Truth Social by accusing pollsters of being “criminals” and committing “ELECTION FRAUD,” alleging bias and a deliberate effort to produce negative results. He specifically criticized Fox News and other media outlets for their polling data, claiming they are part of a “compromised and corrupt” press. This follows a pattern of Trump suing media outlets and pollsters over unfavorable results.

Former President Trump accused major pollsters, including The New York Times, ABC News/Washington Post, and Fox News, of “election fraud,” citing recent polls showing his approval rating below 50 percent. He claims these polls are intentionally negative and aimed at discrediting him, referencing past instances where polls underestimated his electoral success. Trump’s statement escalates his long-standing attacks on polls he deems unfavorable, further fueling his criticisms of mainstream media. This follows polls showing his approval rating at historic lows for a president at this point in their term, particularly concerning his handling of specific policy issues.

Senator Bernie Sanders criticized President Trump’s thin-skinned response to a critical “60 Minutes” broadcast, highlighting Trump’s repeated calls for CBS to lose its license. Sanders mocked Trump’s demand, emphasizing the president’s inability to accept criticism despite readily dishing it out through lawsuits against various media outlets. This reaction, Sanders argued, demonstrates an intolerance for dissent unbefitting a political leader. Trump’s actions underscore his pattern of attacking critical media outlets, labeling any negative coverage as “fake news.”

Elon Musk’s recent accusations against the media, claiming they are “actively encouraging” his assassination due to his support for Donald Trump, ignites a profound sense of disbelief. The sheer audacity of this statement reflects a broader trend where public figures leverage fear and paranoia to garner sympathy and attention. I find it hard to believe that a billionaire tech mogul, who owns a platform like Twitter, can genuinely perceive himself as a targeted individual in this way. What’s even more perplexing is the dissonance between his personal safety and the grievances he expresses.
Musk’s comments seem to be steeped in a mix of narcissism and a desire for martyrdom.… Continue reading
Trump’s call for ABC News to fire its entire staff in response to losing the debate is not only an extreme overreaction but also a dangerous attack on the freedom of the press. The fact that he cannot handle criticism or defeat without resorting to such drastic measures speaks volumes about his character and fitness for any form of leadership.
The debate clearly showcased Trump’s inability to engage in a meaningful and substantive discussion, instead resorting to lies, deflection, and infantile behavior. His constant need to assert himself as the victor, even when faced with overwhelming evidence to the contrary, is a clear indication of his delusional mindset.… Continue reading
Kamala Harris Hits It Out of the Park, CNN Not So Much
As I sat down to watch Kamala Harris’s interview on CNN, I had high hopes. I expected insightful questions that would shed light on her policies, her plans for the future, and her vision for America. Instead, what I witnessed was a disappointing display of political gossip, insipid questions, and an overall lack of substance. Dana Bash, the interviewer, seemed more focused on eliciting a “gotcha” moment than on diving into the real issues that matter to voters.
It was evident to me that the mainstream media, including CNN, is more interested in sensationalism and political posturing than in delivering meaningful, informative content to its viewers.… Continue reading
