Paraguay Senator Demands Mbappe Apology After Accusations
Following comments from Senator Celeste Amarilla of Paraguay, who referred to French captain Kylian Mbappe as a “colonised Cameroonian,” the Paraguayan government has officially deplored and rejected the remarks, stating they are contrary to national values. Both FIFA president Gianni Infantino and Mbappe’s club team, Real Madrid, have issued condemnations of the comments, with FIFA vowing to fight racism. The French Football Federation has reported Amarilla’s remarks to the public prosecutor’s office, and Mbappe himself has accused the senator of “thoughtlessness and blatant racism.”
