Harvey Weinstein diagnosed with a form of bone marrow cancer. These words linger in my mind, provoking a complex mix of emotions that I can’t quite untangle. It’s hard to feel sympathy for a man who has caused so much pain and suffering to countless individuals. Upon hearing the news, I found myself reflecting not just on his diagnosis, but on the broader implications of such an event, especially in the context of his past actions.
How wild it is that at such a crucial moment in his life, Weinstein appears to have succumbed to a disease that is often referred to as tyrannical and merciless.… Continue reading
The news of the alleged killer of Ugandan Olympian, Rebecca Cheptegei, dying from burns in the hospital brings forth a mix of emotions and reflections. The brutal attack on Cheptegei, as she was returning home from church with her children, is a senseless act of violence that should never have occurred. It is heartbreaking to think about the trauma her children must have experienced witnessing such a horrific event. Domestic violence is a scourge that affects far too many women globally, with statistics indicating the prevalence of physical violence against women, particularly married women.
The fact that the perpetrator of such a heinous crime has met his end from the same method he used against his wife raises questions of karma and justice.… Continue reading
Harvey Weinstein in hospital with Covid and double pneumonia, his team says.
May he get the compassion and respect that he gave his victims. The viruses came in a group because they knew it was a bad idea to be alone in a room with him. I hope he’s very uncomfortable and having a miserable time. It’s almost poetic justice that he’s now facing the consequences of his actions. The fact that he used to smoke in the office long after it was banned adds a layer of irony to his current condition.
Intubate him from both ends. So how about them Mets?… Continue reading
B.C. serial killer Robert Pickton savagely attacked in prison, clinging to life. The news of this attack on Pickton, a man convicted of murdering six women and suspected of many more killings, sparks a multitude of conflicting emotions within me. On one hand, the idea of violence against anyone, even someone as heinous as Pickton, should not sit right with us. As a society, we should strive to uphold the principles of justice and fairness, even within the walls of a prison. However, the dark reality is that prison violence is all too common, and when it happens to a figure like Pickton, can we really muster up sympathy?… Continue reading
Rudy Giuliani, a name that used to evoke a sense of respect and admiration for many, has now become synonymous with controversy and legal troubles. The recent events surrounding his birthday party serve as a stark reminder that nobody is above the law, regardless of their status or influence.
It is quite ironic that just two hours after Giuliani publicly mocked Arizona’s Attorney General, he was served with an indictment at his own birthday celebration. The universe truly works in mysterious ways, and karma seems to have caught up with him at the most unexpected moment.
Giuliani’s audacity in taunting the authorities, coupled with his delusional belief that he could evade accountability, only serves to highlight the depth of his hubris and disregard for the consequences of his actions.… Continue reading
I can’t help but revel in the fact that Donald Trump, the man known for his bombastic personality and inability to sit still, is finally being forced to face a situation he can’t talk his way out of. The image of him nodding off during his trial, unable to control the narrative or the boredom creeping in, brings a certain satisfaction. It must be driving him mad to be stuck in that courtroom day after day, unable to escape the reality of the situation he finds himself in.
The irony of Trump trying to use his son’s graduation as an excuse to avoid court, only to end up in this mess because of his own actions, is not lost on me.… Continue reading
