I can’t even begin to wrap my head around the sheer audacity of some people. Imagine being a juror on a case involving the theft of $40 million meant to feed children during a pandemic, only to have someone drop off a bag of $120,000 at your doorstep with the promise of more if you vote to acquit. Representative Byron Donalds’ plea for potential jurors in Trump’s hush-money trial to vote “not guilty” is nothing short of jury tampering. It is concerning to see a member of Congress who is supposed to uphold the law and respect the due process of our justice system actively attempting to influence the outcome of a trial. Donalds’ blatant disregard for the rule of law and the integrity of the judicial process is appalling.
It is evident that Donalds, being a staunch MAGA supporter and a part of the Tea Party movement, has put his allegiance to Trump above all else.
