As I reflect on the incident where a protester was thrown to the ground after calling Joe Manchin “a sick f**k” to his face, I am struck by the blatant abuse of power and the disregard for freedom of speech. It is alarming to see how quickly a dissenting voice can be silenced through physical violence, especially in a political setting where dialogue and debate should be encouraged.
