Off-Duty Customs Officer Fires Shots in Apparent Road Rage Incident Near JFK

Authorities are investigating a shooting near JFK Airport’s entrance after an off-duty Customs and Border Protection officer fired his weapon following a reported fender-bender. The incident occurred early in the morning on the southbound Van Wyck, where the officer claimed he was attacked by the other driver after the accident and subsequently fired several shots.
