Child’s Dissolved Remains Poured Into Lake by Parents

The Aiken County Sheriff announced that some remains belonging to 4-year-old Javeayah Harris have been recovered from Cedar Creek Reservoir. These remains were identified through DNA testing as the biological offspring of her parents, who are accused of dissolving her body with chemicals to conceal evidence of her death, which authorities allege resulted from child abuse and a head injury that went untreated. The parents, Michilae Herring and Johmarea Harris, now face additional charges of destruction and desecration of human remains, with bond denied due to them being considered flight risks.
