Svetlana Dali, the Delta Air Lines stowaway, has once again found herself in legal trouble after attempting to flee the United States. This time, her audacious escape plan involved a Greyhound bus bound for Canada, a far cry from her previous attempt to stow away on a Delta flight. The sheer audacity of her repeated attempts is baffling, especially considering the apparent ease with which she initially bypassed security. One can’t help but wonder about the effectiveness of airport security protocols, given her successful first attempt. The incident raises serious questions about security measures at both airports and bus terminals, prompting concern about potential vulnerabilities in the system.… Continue reading

Flights cancelled in Japan after scissors go missing – sounds like the start of the most absurd headline you could come up with, right? But it actually happened. A pair of scissors went missing at a store near the boarding gates and resulted in the cancellation of 36 flights and delay of 201 others. The chaos that ensued is quite comical to think about – a whole airport shut down because of a pair of missing scissors.
Japan airport security is notoriously strict – I once had to throw out scissors that were just a hairline over the allowed limit of 10cm.… Continue reading
Traveling in the United States has become a common occurrence, with record-breaking numbers of airline passengers screened in a single day. It’s almost hard to comprehend that a staggering 2.95 million individuals passed through airport security, setting a new benchmark in air travel. The hustle and bustle of airports, the lines at security checkpoints, and the sheer volume of people traversing the skies are enough to make anyone stop and think about the state of the travel industry.
Reading through various personal anecdotes and experiences of travelers, it’s evident that the process of navigating through airports can be a hit or miss.… Continue reading
As the news of yet another American tourist being arrested in Turks and Caicos for possession of ammo floods the media, it’s hard not to shake my head at the sheer stupidity of these individuals. I mean, how difficult is it to check your luggage for stray ammunition before heading to another country? The fact that this is the fifth case in a single week is both baffling and concerning.
The fact that the first person to be caught with loose ammo in their luggage garnered attention and raised money is amusing, but it’s clear that subsequent offenders won’t receive the same sympathy or support.… Continue reading
As an American tourist facing a possible 12-year prison sentence after ammo was found in my luggage in Turks and Caicos, I can’t help but feel astonishment at the situation I find myself in. It’s baffling to me how someone could be so careless to inadvertently pack ammunition in their luggage for an international trip. With the amount of news coverage and reminders at airports about not carrying firearms or ammo, it seems like common sense to ensure that your bags are clear of any prohibited items before heading to the airport.
The fact that the TSA, a multi-billion-dollar security force in the United States, didn’t catch the ammo on the way out is mind-boggling.… Continue reading
