This escalation follows a previous attempt by French authorities to question Musk and former X CEO Linda Yaccarino voluntarily, which they did not attend. Prosecutors are now seeking to compel their appearance for questioning, threatening criminal charges if they fail to comply, and have requested investigating judges to charge X Corp., xAI, Musk, and Yaccarino, potentially through warrants if they do not respond. The investigation, aimed at protecting victims of online and real-world criminal offenses, comes amid X’s refusal to comply with a court order to reveal its algorithm.
