Magyar’s Bold Move: Proposes Ukraine Meeting, Seeks Hungary-Ukraine Relations Reset

Incoming Hungarian Prime Minister Peter Magyar has proposed an early June meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss the status of ethnic Hungarians in western Ukraine. The aim of this meeting, scheduled after Magyar assumes office, is to foster better relations by addressing concerns over Ukrainian legislation perceived as discriminatory against the Hungarian community, particularly regarding language and education rights.
