I couldn’t believe my eyes when I stumbled upon the news that over 100 hidden-camera videos, predominantly of Navy sailors, were uploaded to a porn site. Having worked on USS ships as a civilian in the past, I know firsthand the camaraderie and trust that exist within the naval community. So, learning about such despicable acts of invasion of privacy and exploitation left me deeply disturbed.
It’s shocking to think that individuals within the ranks of the Navy, a symbol of honor and integrity, could stoop so low as to violate the sanctity and privacy of their fellow sailors. As an avid traveler, I have utilized Airbnb on numerous occasions, hoping for a unique and comfortable experience in a new city. However, the recent news that Airbnb has banned the use of indoor security cameras has brought to light a disturbing reality that many hosts have been taking advantage of. The fact that indoor cameras were ever permitted in the first place is shocking and, frankly, downright creepy.

As I read the shocking news about a Royal Caribbean cruise employee who was arrested after a hidden camera was found in a guest bathroom on the Symphony of the Seas, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of disbelief and disgust. The fact that this individual, identified as Mirasol, not only installed a hidden camera but also admitted to sneaking into rooms and hiding under the bed while guests were showering to record them naked is beyond disturbing. It’s a violation of privacy and a complete breach of trust.
