The recent news that Trump is too ‘exhausted’ to engage in interviews with unfriendly outlets is concerning on many levels. It raises questions about his ability to handle the demands of the presidency, particularly if something as routine as interviews proves to be too much for him. I cannot wrap my head around the tragic news of the father and daughter hikers found dead in Utah after running out of water in 100-degree temperatures. It pains me to think about the desperation and anguish they must have felt in their final moments, knowing that they were unable to save themselves from the brutal heat. As I sit here reflecting on the news that Donald Trump will be holding an outdoor rally in Las Vegas in scorching heat, my mind is filled with a myriad of thoughts and concerns. The fact that the campaign has made sure to have extra medics and water on hand, but strictly for Trump’s personal use, is both baffling and disheartening. It seems that once again, Trump’s priority lies solely in his own wellbeing, rather than the safety and comfort of the individuals who have come to support him.
