I am not a father, but I am a godfather to two wonderful children. Hearing about the tragic case of Harmony Montgomery and her father fills me with deep sadness and outrage. The fact that a man with such an extensive criminal history, including violence, was granted full custody of a child with unique care needs is incomprehensible. How did the system fail to protect Harmony from someone who clearly had a history of violence and abusive behavior?
