When I think about the situation in Haiti, my heart aches for the people who are caught in the crossfires of violence, corruption, and poverty. The recent attempt by gangs to seize control of the main airport in the midst of the chaos caused by thousands of prisoners escaping is a clear indication of the dire state of affairs in the country. The reports of indiscriminate massacres of people inside the cells are chilling and speak to the complete breakdown of law and order.
