Senator John Fetterman, D-Pa., expressed frustration over the close Senate race in Pennsylvania, blaming Green Party voters for potentially contributing to the Republican candidate’s victory. Fetterman, while acknowledging that thousands of votes remained uncounted, criticized Green Party voters in a social media post, referring to them as “dips***s.” His remarks drew criticism from many, including those who pointed out that the Green Party voters were also his constituents. This controversy comes as President-elect Donald Trump leads in the Pennsylvania gubernatorial race, a significant shift from the 2020 presidential election results, where President Joe Biden won the state by a narrow margin.

As I reflect on the notion of ‘protest votes’ and the impact they can have on elections, particularly in terms of Jill Stein and the 2016 presidential election, it becomes abundantly clear that such actions can inadvertently benefit the very candidate that the protest voters may vehemently oppose – in this case, Donald Trump. The idea that a vote for Jill Stein is essentially a vote for Trump may sound harsh or even unfair to some, but the harsh reality is that the numbers don’t lie. As a voter who made the mistake of supporting Jill Stein in 2016, I can confidently say that Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez is right: Jill Stein’s campaign is not serious. Looking back, I realize that my decision to vote for Stein was not based on any substantive policy reasons but rather on a misguided belief that a third-party candidate was a better option than the established Democrats and Republicans. In reality, supporting Stein only served to contribute to the chaos and division in our political landscape.
It is evident that Stein’s campaign lacks the necessary groundwork and organization required to make a meaningful impact on American politics.… Continue reading
Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez recently made a statement about Green Party presidential candidate, Jill Stein, calling her “predatory” for continuously running for president without making any significant progress in growing the party at the grassroots level. When I read about this incident, I find it amusing how the media twists her words into “lashing out”, when in reality she was just stating the obvious. It’s like having a basketball coach who never makes it to the playoffs, doesn’t recruit new talent, and consistently loses every season – would you still consider them fit to coach? I doubt it. AOC’s logic in this scenario is crystal clear, and it’s refreshing to see someone cutting through the political jargon and speaking the truth.… Continue reading
