Conflicting reports place Assad on a Syrian Air plane departing Damascus airport early Sunday, though flight tracking data is inconclusive. The plane’s transponder signal was lost near Homs, but no crash has been reported.
As a Texan observing the current political climate in our state, the news of Ted Cruz facing a GOP rebellion as Republicans back his opponent, Colin Allred, comes as both unexpected and long overdue. The sentiment towards Cruz among his own party members, as well as the citizens of Texas, is far from favorable. The anecdotes shared about colleagues hiding from Cruz or the general consensus that nobody likes him are telling of the divisive figure he has become in the realm of politics.
