The idea that Germany should feel embarrassed over this blatant manipulation of an ethnic minority group is ludicrous. These individuals are Russian citizens, and any responsibility towards them lies with the Russian government, not Berlin. The attempt to weaponize German culture against Ukraine is a clear indication of Putin’s desperate measures to bolster his army and Wagner mercenary force.
