The story of Algerian boxer Imane Khelif winning a gold medal after her gender was questioned is both inspiring and infuriating. The fact that she had to endure baseless accusations and scrutiny about her identity is a testament to the ignorance and bigotry that still exists in our society. It is disheartening to see how some individuals, particularly those on social media, are quick to jump to conclusions without any evidence or understanding of the situation.

As I read about the recent incident at the Cleveland Mississippi Country Club where a woman was refused entry into an event simply because she was a woman, my initial reaction was one of shock and disbelief. How is it possible that in this day and age, such blatant discrimination based on gender is still not only prevalent but openly practiced?
