Backed by Elon Musk, Gina Carano has decided to sue Disney over her firing from the hit series ‘The Mandalorian.’ I have to say, I find this whole situation quite fascinating. Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur known for his controversial statements and actions, is now supporting someone who believes they were wrongfully terminated. It’s ironic considering Musk’s own track record with firing employees over tweets.

Carano, who was also starring in movies produced by conservative commentator Ben Shapiro, seemed to be doing just fine financially. So the fact that she’s taking this legal route is perplexing. Not wearing a mask during COVID-19 health emergency isn’t a free speech right, appeals court says

parents who argued that the mask mandate violated their freedom of speech. I couldn’t help but roll my eyes at such an absurd claim. Wearing a mask is not a form of speech, nor does it infringe upon anyone’s right to express themselves. It is a necessary public health measure during a pandemic, plain and simple.

The appeals court made it crystal clear that skeptics have every right to voice their opposition through various means, but refusing to wear a mask is not one of them. The court drew a parallel between disobeying a masking requirement and refusing to pay taxes or wearing a motorcycle helmet as a symbolic protest.… Continue reading
