Florida state parks whistleblower fired after exposing Ron DeSantis’s plans

As a resident of Florida, I am deeply disturbed by the recent news of a whistleblower being fired for exposing Governor Ron DeSantis’s plans to pave over environmentally sensitive state parks for the construction of hotels, golf courses, and pickleball courts. The whistleblower, James Gaddis, worked for the agency and put the preservation of the state parks above his own position, highlighting the critical, globally imperiled habitat that was at risk of being bulldozed.

The secrecy and lack of transparency surrounding these plans is incredibly frustrating. No state agency should be allowed to push through such destructive projects without proper public consultation and consideration of environmental impact.… Continue reading
