Félicien Kabuga, a 91-year-old Rwandan accused of bankrolling the 1994 genocide, has died in a hospital in The Hague, Netherlands, while in custody. Kabuga’s trial, which began in 2022, was halted last year when he was declared unfit to stand trial due to dementia. The U.N. court confirmed his death and has ordered an investigation into the circumstances.
