FBI data shows that America is experiencing a significant drop in crime, a fact that should be celebrated and acknowledged. However, when we hear Trump say the opposite, it’s hard not to roll our eyes and dismiss his claims as yet another example of his penchant for spreading misinformation and fear. It’s clear that Trump’s reality is far removed from the actual data and statistics compiled by professionals who study crime trends on a national scale.
