A 42-year-old Texas man, Joshua Cole, has been arrested and charged with threatening to shoot up the Abilene Pride Parade. According to the FBI, Cole made specific threats on Facebook, motivated by the recent assassination of right-wing activist Charlie Kirk. Cole was arrested a day later and admitted to operating the Facebook account but claimed he did not intend to carry out the threats. He is currently being held before trial and faces a potential five-year prison sentence if found guilty.

Shannon Depararro Atkins, 46, was arrested in West Palm Beach, Florida, on charges of making electronic threats against former President Trump. The arrest stemmed from an FBI tip regarding threatening Facebook posts Atkins allegedly made, including statements referencing past presidential assassinations. Police also found cocaine on Atkins during the arrest, resulting in an additional drug charge. Following his arrest, Atkins was ordered by a court to have no contact with Trump or his family and to refrain from accessing the internet or weapons.
