As an American citizen, it deeply troubles me to see individuals in positions of power and authority using falsehoods to boost their image and credibility. The recent revelation that a Texas Congressman continues to proudly wear a Combat Infantryman Badge (CIB) that was revoked due to his ineligibility is not only disrespectful but also a blatant disregard for the values and honor associated with military service.
The fact that this Congressman was never eligible for the award to begin with, yet insists on flaunting it as a symbol of his valor, speaks volumes about his character.
