In a recent announcement, President Trump declared he was pardoning six individuals he claims were unjustly prosecuted under the Biden administration for clean-air-related offenses, stating, “I AM SETTING THEM ALL FREE, RIGHT NOW!” These pardons reportedly involve people imprisoned or facing imprisonment for allegedly “fixing their car,” which Trump characterized as part of the “Weaponization and Stupidity” of the previous administration. While the names of those pardoned were not disclosed, this action follows the Justice Department’s decision earlier this year to cease pursuing criminal charges under the Clean Air Act related to tampering with onboard diagnostic devices.
