Three therapists consulted by HuffPost deemed former President Trump’s online comment about Taylor Swift’s appearance to be strikingly immature, sexist, and reminiscent of bullying behavior often seen in children. His impulsive and emotionally charged statement, they argued, exemplified a lack of self-awareness and disregard for social norms expected of a public figure. This behavior, characterized as “protective puffing” and egocentric thinking, reduces a successful woman to superficial attributes and normalizes the devaluation of women’s worth. The therapists concluded that Trump’s actions, far from being merely playful banter, constitute a form of public bullying that sets a detrimental example.
