Elon Musk and his America PAC are facing lawsuits from voters who signed up for a $1 million voter giveaway. The plaintiffs claim they were misled about the selection process, believing the winner would be chosen randomly, when in reality, winners were handpicked to serve as spokespeople for the pro-Trump PAC. The suits, filed in Texas and Michigan, allege that the giveaway was a scheme to collect personal information and political support under false pretenses. The plaintiffs are seeking damages and an order requiring Musk and the PAC to destroy their data.

Joe Rogan, host of the popular podcast “The Joe Rogan Experience,” announced his endorsement of Donald Trump on social media, prompting widespread reaction and criticism. Critics quickly unearthed past episodes of Rogan’s podcast where he expressed views seemingly contradictory to his current support for Trump, such as praising Barack Obama and Bernie Sanders, advocating for policies like universal healthcare and free college, and criticizing Trump’s immigration policies. These clips went viral on social media, highlighting the apparent shift in Rogan’s political views. Rogan’s endorsement came after an interview with Elon Musk, who he believes made “the most compelling case for Trump you’ll hear.” Trump responded to Rogan’s endorsement by calling it “big news” and acknowledging Rogan’s traditionally “more liberal” stance.

Elon Musk’s PAC fired and abandoned canvassers in Michigan, and the situation has left me incredulous. It embodies everything I’ve come to expect from a world where corporate power runs amok, often leaving the little guy in the dust. The actions of this PAC are a microcosm of the larger trend we see with billionaires like Musk and the unchecked influence they wield over our political landscape.
The revelation that canvassers were left stranded feels emblematic of a broader disregard for the people it employs. When I hear of these individuals being transported in a U-Haul and suddenly finding themselves without a job or support, it’s a bitter reminder of how disposable certain entities consider their workforce.… Continue reading

The America PAC has reportedly received suspicious data from canvassers, with evidence that some have spoofed their locations to make it seem like they visited voters’ homes. Data leaks earlier this month revealed that around 24% of door-knocks in Arizona and 25% in Nevada had been marked as “unusual”, indicating they may have been fake. The PAC has spent over $54 million on vendor Blitz Canvassing in these states, which is also working in Michigan and North Carolina.

A lawsuit against Tesla CEO Elon Musk and his political action committee (PAC) regarding their $1 million daily giveaways to registered voters has been returned to a state court in Pennsylvania. Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner alleges that Musk and the PAC are running an illegal lottery and attempting to sway voters in the presidential race. Krasner’s request to bar Musk and his PAC from awarding further prizes will be considered by a Philadelphia County Court of Common Pleas judge. The defendants’ claim that the case should be adjudicated in federal court because it pertains to the upcoming election was dismissed by U.S. District Judge Gerald Pappert.

A Federal judge has rejected an effort by Elon Musk-backed political action committee (PAC) America Pac to move a civil lawsuit brought by the Philadelphia District Attorney over a daily $1m prize draw for registered voters to federal court. The judge determined that the District Attorney’s motives are irrelevant, and his office could bring the case to state court. The lawsuit aims to halt the scheme in Pennsylvania and claims that a call for voters in battleground states to provide their phone numbers, addresses and emails in exchange for a cash sum and entry into the prize draw is illegal under state law. It also claims that the PAC and Musk breached state consumer protection laws by making misleading statements. Commentators have suggested that by alleging multiple winners turned up at Trump rallies, the District Attorney is arguing that winners are not chosen randomly as claimed.

A Pennsylvania prosecutor’s attempt to halt a $1 million daily voter lottery organized by Elon Musk has moved to federal court. The state judge agreed that Musk should have attended the hearing, however, refrained from issuing immediate sanctions. Musk’s attorney argued that claims of federal election interference are involved in the proceedings and the state case was put on hold. In response, Krasner, the prosecutor who filed the suit, has filed a petition to return the case to state court. Critics of the daily lottery suggested it violated federal law which prohibits paying others to vote.

A political group supported by billionaire Elon Musk is using a Facebook account tagged “Progress 2028” to disseminate misleading advertisements suggesting that Kamala Harris endorses certain policies that she in fact does not. These include wanting to implement mandatory gun buybacks, bestowing Medicare benefits and driving licenses to illegal immigrants, and banning fracking. The ads are sponsored by Building America’s Future, a secret fundraisers funded by Musk and others, and tied to over $100 million Musk has spent backing the re-election bid of Donald Trump. As these advertisements are not technically in breach of Meta’s advertising policies and are protected by the American First Amendment, they cannot be removed, even though they have the potential to mislead voters. The advertisements have been viewed by millions in swing states so far.
