As news broke that E. Jean Carroll, the woman who accused Donald Trump of sexual assault, had won an $83.3 million defamation lawsuit against him, my mind couldn’t help but ponder what she planned to do with such a significant sum of money. It’s her money, and she deserves every penny, but the possibilities for doing something good with it are endless.
One suggestion that immediately came to mind was to fund private lab testing for rape kits to ensure that physical evidence of sexual assault is handled professionally and quickly. Donald Trump storms out of closing arguments in E Jean Carroll trial. It’s not surprising at all. In fact, I find it quite satisfying. Trump’s consistent, childish behavior only reinforces the prosecution’s argument that he thinks he is above the law. His decision to walk out of the courtroom just further confirms his petulant nature.
Throughout these court proceedings, Trump has continued to defame Carroll, and she has rightfully dragged him back to court to demand justice.
