As news spreads of Ukraine’s ongoing massive cyberattack, targeting ATMs across Russia, I find myself torn between admiration for Ukraine’s bold move and concern for the potential repercussions. The Ukrainian cyber specialists have launched an unprecedented attack on the Russian banking sector, which is allegedly involved in funding the armed aggression of the Russian federation. The Ukrainian cyberattack, which began on July 23, has resulted in frozen bank payment systems, disrupted personal offices, and blocked payments for public transport, among other disruptions.
