Changes coming to ACT exam, including the science portion being made optional

As someone who has personally gone through the education system, especially standardized testing like the ACT, the recent news of changes coming to the exam, particularly the science portion becoming optional, has left me with a mix of confusion and concern. The idea of making science, a fundamental field that shapes our understanding of the world, optional on a standardized test seems counterintuitive. When I took the ACTs years ago, I vividly remember the science section being more about scientific literacy than memorizing facts. It required an understanding of the scientific process, how experiments are conducted, and interpreting data from graphs and tables.… Continue reading

Fox News guest: I’d ‘walk through broken glass in the middle of a house on fire’ for Trump

I can’t help but feel a sense of bewilderment and frustration when I hear statements like the one made by a Fox News guest recently. The idea that someone would be willing to “walk through broken glass in the middle of a house on fire” for Trump is not only extreme but deeply concerning. It’s a stark reminder of the intense loyalty and unwavering support that some individuals have towards the former president, to the point where they would put themselves in harm’s way for him.

However, the reality is that this blind devotion is a one-way street. Trump has shown time and time again that he values his own interests above all else, even if it means sacrificing the well-being of others.… Continue reading

17% of Voters Blame Biden for the End of Roe

I am utterly amazed by the recent revelation that 17% of voters place the blame on President Biden for the demise of Roe v. Wade. It is disheartening to see such a significant portion of the population, albeit a minority, hold such a misguided belief. This is a clear indication of the rampant misinformation and lack of critical thinking that plagues our society.

It is baffling to witness how these individuals are quick to shift the responsibility to President Biden, despite the fact that it was former President Trump who proudly claimed credit for stacking the Supreme Court with pro-life justices.… Continue reading

Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene calls earthquake ‘strong sign for America to repent’

As I sit here pondering the recent statement made by Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, calling an earthquake a “strong sign for America to repent,” I can’t help but feel a mix of incredulity and frustration. It seems that every time a natural disaster strikes, there are those who are quick to attribute it to some form of divine punishment or displeasure. The idea that an earthquake is a direct message from a higher power for Americans to repent seems not only illogical but also deeply misguided.

The notion that a geological event such as an earthquake is a direct result of America’s moral failings or lack of faith is, frankly, absurd.… Continue reading

Conspiracy Theorists Think The Eclipse Will Begin A “Massive Human Sacrifice Event”

As I sit here reading about the outrageous claims of conspiracy theorists suggesting that the eclipse will trigger a massive human sacrifice event, I cannot help but feel a mix of astonishment and bemusement. It is truly mind-boggling how some individuals can still cling to such archaic and irrational beliefs in this day and age. The thought of people actually buying into the idea that sacrificing human lives will somehow bring back the sun is both absurd and disturbing.

The fact that some folks are so entrenched in their delusions that they are actually planning for such a horrific event is unsettling, to say the least.… Continue reading

2024 NFL Combine: Draft prospect says he doesn’t ‘believe in space’ and ‘other planets’

It is utterly mind-boggling to think that a college graduate, a prospect gearing up for the 2024 NFL Combine no less, could sit there and confidently declare that he doesn’t ‘believe in space’ and ‘other planets’. I mean, really? How does someone reach that level of ignorance in this day and age? The fact that this individual was accepted into college primarily on the basis of his athletic prowess might explain a part of this nonsensical belief, but does that excuse the lack of basic education and common sense?

I am left flabbergasted at the thought of someone walking around with the assumption that the moon is just a detached part of the earth.… Continue reading

Russian state TV mocks Donald Trump supporters | Maxim Yusin, a Russian journalist and political commentator, says: “The majority of people who vote for Trump are not very smart primitive people with whom you need to talk like this, with cliches and dumb slogans.”

It’s a strange feeling to find oneself agreeing with Russian state TV, especially when it comes to mocking Donald Trump supporters. Maxim Yusin, a Russian journalist and political commentator, hit the nail on the head when he said, “The majority of people who vote for Trump are not very smart primitive people with whom you need to talk like this, with cliches and dumb slogans.” And, as much as I hate to admit it, he’s not wrong.

When I see the blind loyalty and unwavering support that some Trump supporters display, it’s hard not to see where Yusin is coming from.… Continue reading

After School Satan Club returns to Jane Addams Elementary School

The After School Satan Club is making its return to Jane Addams Elementary School, much to the chagrin of some Christians. This club, offered as a nonreligious alternative to other religious clubs, is a testament to the importance of religious freedom in our society. It is a direct response to attempts by Christians to establish their clubs in elementary schools, proving that either religion should be kept out of schools altogether or all religions should have the opportunity to be represented.

It’s funny how the mention of the After School Satan Club elicits a childish response from many people. But let’s remember, we were all once children too, and we probably would have found humor in the name.… Continue reading

Trump supporter tells ABC News: I became a ‘diehard Trump fan’ when I saw him ‘hug the American flag’

When I saw the headline about a Trump supporter becoming a diehard fan after witnessing him hug the American flag, I couldn’t help but shake my head in disbelief. How could such a simple gesture, so devoid of substance, have such a profound impact on someone’s political allegiance? It became clear to me that these individuals were easily swayed by shallow displays of patriotism, rather than focusing on the actual policies and principles that truly matter.

The fact that some people fell for this stunt is a testament to their gullibility. As the saying goes, “You’ve got to remember that these are just simple people.… Continue reading

We must start urgently talking about the dangers of a second Trump presidency

We must start urgently talking about the dangers of a second Trump presidency. It’s concerning that even after four years, Trump garnered around 80 million votes. This shows that there is a significant portion of the population that remains unfazed by his actions and rhetoric. It’s alarming to think that people were discussing pandemic conspiracies while lying in hospital beds, showcasing how mentally conditioned and delusional some individuals are. Trump, a former Democrat, has managed to act as a false prophet, and his followers metaphorically kneel before him.

Many of us have been talking about these dangers constantly, but unfortunately, a significant portion of the population either doesn’t care or refuses to listen.… Continue reading
