In a shocking turn of events, the GOP is poised to kill the border-Ukraine package that it initially demanded. It’s clear that most Republicans have no interest in continuing the debate that has divided their party even further. The GOP now wants to move on, conveniently forgetting that they were the ones who pushed for linking border policy changes with aid to Ukraine.
The White House has strongly opposed this reversal, stating that it does nothing to secure the border or help Ukraine defend itself against Putin’s aggression. As I observe the ongoing saga of Trump’s rage against E. Jean Carroll, coupled with his apparent disregard for Melania on their wedding anniversary, I can’t help but feel a sense of detachment. Melania clearly wants nothing to do with him. It’s evident in the way she recoils in disgust at his touch, as if she can’t bear the thought of being in his presence. But here’s the thing – she knew exactly what she was getting into when she married him.
