What a strange turn of events for a young American to find himself embroiled in a failed coup attempt in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The family of this boy claims he went to Africa on vacation, but how does one go from sightseeing to participating in such a dangerous and unprecedented situation? It’s a head-scratcher for sure. The mother’s comment that this kind of activity is completely out of character for her son only adds to the air of mystery surrounding the incident.
