The bodies of a 38-year-old mother and her 8-year-old son were discovered in their Bronx apartment Friday evening by family members conducting a wellness check prompted by a neighbor’s report of a 4-year-old girl’s prolonged screams. The young girl, also present in the apartment, was hospitalized for evaluation. The NYPD is awaiting autopsy results to determine the cause of death, and is not currently considering the deaths suspicious.
