Carlos Mencia Faces 12 Felony Charges For Alleged $8M Tax Evasion
Comedian Carlos Mencia was arrested and charged with 12 felony counts for allegedly failing to report or pay state taxes on over $8 million in earnings between 2019 and 2024. Prosecutors stated Mencia owes more than $300,000 in taxes, and if convicted, he faces over 11 years in prison. These charges mark the first filed by the district attorney’s new Business Tax Fraud Unit.
