As a veteran, the idea of someone attacking another veteran’s service record for political gain is not only distasteful but downright disgraceful. J.D. Vance’s recent meltdown over questions about his military record is a prime example of the lengths some will go to gain an edge in the political arena. Vance, who served as a public affairs specialist in Iraq, has been quick to tout his service, even going so far as to label himself a “combat veteran.” However, the reality of his role in the military paints a different picture.
While any service to our country is commendable, the distinction between combat and non-combat roles is an important one.… Continue reading
As a veteran who supports Trump, I was initially proud to have a president who I believed respected our veterans. However, the incident where Trump refused to honor the servicemen buried at the WWI cemetery due to rain while making time to meet with Vladimir Putin alone was truly disheartening. It made me question how someone who avoided serving his country due to alleged bone spurs could disrespect those who made the ultimate sacrifice. It’s a shame that someone who claims to support the military could hold such contempt for our fallen heroes.
The comments made by Trump, labeling these brave individuals as “suckers” and “losers,” not only showcase a lack of respect but also a complete disregard for the sacrifices made by these servicemen.… Continue reading
As a veteran, watching the recent attack ad exposing Trump’s egregious behavior towards the military leaves me feeling disgusted and enraged. The laundry list of his offenses against the armed forces is extensive and appalling beyond belief. From insulting Gold Star families to calling fallen soldiers “losers” and “suckers,” Trump’s blatant disrespect for those who have served our country is nothing short of despicable.
One of the most shocking revelations from the ad was Trump’s unapologetic draft dodging, using bone spurs as an excuse to avoid military service. This blatant disregard for the call of duty stands in stark contrast to the sacrifices made by countless brave men and women who have served honorably.… Continue reading
As I delved into the news about the profound damage found in the Maine gunman’s brain, possibly stemming from repeated blasts experienced during Army training, my mind began racing with thoughts and reflections. The mental anguish and behavioral changes that such trauma can inflict on an individual are unfathomable. The parallels drawn between shell shock and brain damage, and yet the lack of research by the Army in addressing this issue, is deeply concerning. It is disheartening to think that individuals who undergo such extreme conditions are not provided with the necessary support and care post-service.
The impact of traumatic brain injuries (TBI) is undeniable, as evidenced by the cases of Chris Benoit, Junior Seau, Aaron Hernandez, and others who suffered devastating consequences.… Continue reading
Nikki Haley Claps Back After Trump’s Jab About Her Husband – “Michael is deployed serving our country, something you know nothing about,” Haley wrote.
Politics can be a messy affair, filled with jabs and insults that often distract from the real issues at hand. Such was the case recently when former President Donald Trump took a shot at Nikki Haley’s husband during a rally in Conway. Trump asked, “Where’s her husband? Oh, he’s away. … What happened to her husband? Where is he? He’s gone.” It was a petty, unnecessary remark, one that only served to highlight Trump’s lack of understanding and respect for the sacrifices made by our service members.… Continue reading
