I can’t even begin to imagine the sheer panic and anxiety that would consume me if I found out there was a red-bellied black snake coiled up in my car. The thought of driving with such a venomous creature slithering around just gives me chills. The fact that this Australian woman continued to drive with the snake after four failed attempts to remove it is both baffling and incredibly brave, in my opinion.

Living inside a rooftop grocery store sign with a computer and a coffee maker for a year – what a concept. When I first heard about this story, it really made me stop and think about the lengths that people will go to in order to have a place to call home. The fact that this woman was able to create a cozy little space for herself in such a unique location is both impressive and heartbreaking at the same time.

This kid is incredible. The bravery he displayed in the face of such a terrifying disaster is truly commendable. Imagine being just nine years old and having to run through a storm to find help for your injured parents. It’s almost unimaginable, yet this young boy did it without hesitation. The fact that he made a mile-long journey in just 10 minutes, with the help of lightning strikes to light his way, is nothing short of amazing. This kid is a true hero, and his actions have undoubtedly saved his parents’ lives.

An 85-year-old woman faced a harrowing home invasion where she was handcuffed to a chair by a robber who had hit her in the head. Despite her hazy memory of the events, it’s clear that she was in a terrifying situation. Her adult disabled son, who was also in the home, seemingly slept through the attack or was unable to assist. The robber, dressed in a military jacket and ski mask, held her at gunpoint and demanded to know where her valuables were kept. The situation escalated when the robber discovered her son and threatened to kill her.

I am deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Paul Alexander, the 78-year-old Dallas man who lived in an iron lung for most of his life. His story is nothing short of remarkable, filled with resilience, determination, and an unwavering spirit that defied the odds stacked against him. I can’t help but be in awe of his ability to persevere through such challenging circumstances, showing the world that limitations are merely obstacles waiting to be overcome.
Paul Alexander’s ability to adapt and thrive despite the confines of his iron lung is an inspiration to us all. Learning how to gulp in air through glossopharyngeal breathing, he found ways to leave the iron lung for parts of the day, eventually passing the bar to become a lawyer and opening a successful law practice.… Continue reading
