Reading the news article titled “‘I can’t wait:’ Raping infant was part of Mississippi man’s birthday trip to Tennessee, police report says” was an incredibly disturbing and sobering experience. It is hard to comprehend the depths of depravity that some individuals are capable of sinking to. The story leaves an indelible mark on one’s psyche, a reminder of the evil that exists in the world and the importance of vigilance in protecting the innocent.

The fact that this man, William Gaal, had previously been convicted of molesting a child in 2000 makes me question the effectiveness of our justice system. How could someone with such a horrific past be released back into society?… Continue reading

The central lie of capitalism is that you’re being paid fairly for your work

Yes but that’s also literally what makes it capitalism. Your job exploits your capability to make them money at a greater rate than they have to pay you. You aren’t all fairly compensated for your work because some of the proceeds of that work are instead funneled off to compensate those who did nothing more than provide capital for the company to utilise, in the form of stocks.
