A middle school teacher in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, was arrested after a drug dog alerted officials to the presence of cocaine in her wallet during a random search. The teacher, identified as 47-year-old Virginia Somers, allegedly told authorities the cocaine belonged to a friend. Following the discovery, a search of Somers’ car revealed marijuana and related paraphernalia. Somers, who teaches Math Intervention at Westdale Middle School, now faces possession charges, and the East Baton Rouge Parish Public School System has stated the matter is being handled according to its policies.

Wilmington police have charged Surry County Board of Elections chairman, James Edwin Yokeley Jr., after finding evidence he placed illegal narcotics into his granddaughters’ ice cream. Video footage allegedly showed Yokeley adding pills, which tested positive for MDMA and cocaine, to the ice cream. The girls did not ingest the drugs, and Yokeley now faces charges of contaminating food or drink, felony possession of narcotics, and felony child abuse. He was transported to jail and posted a secured bond.

It feels like just yesterday when TLC used to have educational content rather than sensationalizing people’s lives for entertainment. The fact that this individual has a history of shady behavior, including faking her sister’s death and running a Go Fund Me scam, speaks volumes about her character.
