In a Truth Social post, former President Donald Trump predicted the imminent cancellation of late-night shows hosted by Jimmy Kimmel and Jimmy Fallon, claiming they have “absolutely NO TALENT.” Trump expressed a desire to have “played a major part” in these potential decisions, following the cancellation of Stephen Colbert’s show after a legal settlement with Trump. Kimmel previously posted a photo from an anti-Trump protest, which also included a caption that was a direct reference to Trump’s alleged correspondence with Jeffrey Epstein, which he has since denied. Trump also ordered the production of Grand Jury testimony related to the Epstein case after the Wall Street Journal reported on it.

A Houston pediatrician and a former city official have drawn widespread condemnation for their insensitive social media comments regarding the Texas flooding. Dr. Christina B. Propst lost her job at Blue Fish Pediatrics after posting a controversial Facebook message wishing harm upon those with opposing political views and visitors, while Sade Perkins, a former city appointee, criticized the victims of the flood, specifically singling out the race and religious affiliation of a camp of victims. Due to Perkins’s comments, Houston’s mayor stated he would not reappoint her to any future positions. The backlash highlights the sensitivity surrounding the disaster and the impact of social media on public figures’ careers.

The anti-woke movement, once portraying itself as oppressed truth-tellers fighting “cancel culture,” now holds significant power, ironically engaging in the very tactics they condemned. This hypocrisy is causing an internal identity crisis within some anti-woke circles, as evidenced by their actions against individuals and groups expressing dissenting views. Examples include the firing of PBS employees and the creation of deportation lists targeting pro-Palestinian activists. This trend threatens to expand, potentially silencing pro-choice advocates and others deemed “anti-Christian,” highlighting a concerning shift towards widespread censorship.

Amber Ruffin, initially slated to perform at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, was fired after criticizing the Trump administration on a podcast. Her refusal to craft jokes appealing to both sides of the political spectrum, and her labeling of the administration as “murderers,” prompted outrage. Consequently, the WHCA board unanimously decided to cancel the comedic performance for this year, prioritizing an event focused solely on journalist awards and mentorship. This decision follows increased tension between the WHCA and the Trump administration, marked by disputes over press access and journalistic independence.

Elon Musk’s attempts to portray himself as a victim of “cancel culture” and a MAGA martyr have spectacularly backfired. His public displays, including mimicking a Nazi salute and being booed at a Dave Chappelle show, have alienated even right-wing supporters. Furthermore, a surge of anti-Tesla sentiment, fueled by Musk’s actions and controversial statements, is impacting the company’s stock and sales. This failure to garner sympathy, even within the right-wing media ecosystem, highlights Musk’s inability to convincingly play the victim role and ironically underscores Trump’s lack of concern for the working class.

It’s always interesting to see how certain groups react when a company decides not to align with their beliefs or values. The recent call for a boycott of Dunkin Donuts by MAGA fans after the CEO of Rumble claimed that the coffee chain refused to advertise on their platform due to its “right-wing culture” is a perfect example. The irony here is palpable, as the same group that is so vehemently against cancel culture is quick to jump on the boycott bandwagon when things don’t go their way.
The concept of boycotting a company for their business decisions seems to be a common trend among certain groups.… Continue reading
Lauren Boebert seems to have a knack for making outrageous statements, and her recent comparison of Trump and Jesus as victims of cancel culture is no exception. As I sit and ponder her words, I can’t help but feel a sense of disbelief and disgust at the audacity of equating the two vastly different figures.
The idea that Jesus, the epitome of love, compassion, and forgiveness, could in any way be compared to Trump, a man known for his divisive rhetoric, egotistical nature, and questionable moral character, is downright blasphemous. It is a slap in the face to those who hold their faith dear and seek to emulate the teachings of Christ in their everyday lives.… Continue reading
As I read about the incident involving the teens who were wrongly accused of wearing blackface at an elite Catholic school, I can’t help but feel a sense of frustration and disbelief. These boys, identified as A.H. and H.H., were expelled from the school for a photo that was taken three years prior to the incident coming to light. The photo, which showed the boys with what appeared to be blackface, was actually a result of them using an acne mask. It’s mind-boggling to me how the school administrators failed to conduct a proper investigation before taking such drastic measures against these young students.… Continue reading
