A 17-year-old Donald Trump supporter was arrested after allegedly punching a 70-year-old woman attending a rally in support of Vice President Kamala Harris. The boy was charged with battery on a person aged 65 or over. The woman, Kathleen Tomasko, claimed she didn’t provoke him and didn’t see him coming. Witnesses reported the youth was walking away from another confrontation with another Harris supporter when he struck Tomasko. The incident took place in Stuart, Florida, at an event which was part of the nationwide Women’s March campaign.
Vikki Westbrook, a Trump supporter in rural North Carolina, remarks the “locked and loaded” sentiment shared amongst fellow Republicans ahead of the 2024 US Presidential election. Many Trump supporters remain convinced that the 2020 election was unjustly taken from Trump and fear similar circumstances in the upcoming election. Trump’s rhetoric continues to intensify amongst his supporters, with one in four believing that if Trump were to lose, he should discredit the election results and do whatever it takes to reclaim the presidency. As Trump tours key swing states before the election, claims of electoral fraud persist despite poll trackers suggesting a neck-and-neck race. The potential for violence remains a concern should Trump not secure a win.
It’s chilling to think that in this day and age, we’re witnessing swastika flags being flown alongside Donald Trump flags during a boat parade in Florida. The very sight of such a hateful symbol should set off alarm bells and send shockwaves through our society. The fact that there are individuals proudly displaying these flags speaks volumes about the deeply disturbing ideologies that still exist within some segments of our population.

As a Black Trump supporter, I have faced my fair share of criticism and backlash for my political beliefs. But nothing could have prepared me for the blatant racism and disrespect I experienced while canvassing for a right-wing organization. Being called a ‘slave’ by individuals within the very group I was trying to support was not only shocking but deeply hurtful.
It is disheartening to realize that despite my loyalty and efforts to align myself with a specific political ideology, I am still viewed as inferior and unworthy of respect by some within that same group. This whole debacle started when Tim Walz and Kamala Harris released a YouTube video discussing food, music, and their hopes for the future of America if they win the election against Donald Trump. The idea that these self-proclaimed patriots, who can’t even manage a brisk walk around the block without winding up in the ER, could organize themselves into some sort of formidable force is simply comical.
