Court records reveal Martin illicitly transferred over $245,000 from Wilkerson’s accounts, primarily into untraceable bitcoin, leaving his nursing home unpaid and his savings depleted. Though Martin faced arrest and a guilty plea for felony theft, resulting in probation, a subsequent civil lawsuit awarded Wilkerson’s estate nearly $1.2 million in damages. However, this judgment was overturned due to Wilkerson’s death, and his loved ones are pursuing further legal action to recover the stolen funds.
