Trump’s Tariffs Create Refund Nightmare, Requiring Millions of Hours to Undo

While importers are entitled to these refunds following the Supreme Court’s ruling, U.S. Customs and Border Protection states that processing the massive volume of refunds manually would require over 4 million man-hours and would severely disrupt agency operations. The administration plans to develop automated controls, anticipating readiness in 45 days, to handle the unprecedented task efficiently.
