The devastation caused by Hurricane Helene is indescribable. The death toll continues to rise, and the recovery efforts are grim as more bodies are discovered. The Southeast United States received an unprecedented amount of rain, causing widespread destruction. The impact is especially severe in the mountainous regions, where the lack of infrastructure hinders rescue operations. The scenes from Asheville, one of the hardest-hit areas, are heart-wrenching, with 77 reported deaths in that region alone.

The Trump campaign has once again found itself in a predicament, being forced to pay the city of Asheville, North Carolina, a whopping $82,000 in advance for hosting a rally. The smaller venue, Thomas Wolfe Auditorium, was chosen for Wednesday’s event, with a capacity of just 2,431 people. Interestingly, there is a larger arena next door with a capacity of 7,200, but it seems the campaign opted for the smaller space.

I read a news article recently that shook me to my core. An Islamic Jihad terrorist confessed to raping a young girl on October 7, and his excuse was that the “devil took over him”. Reading about this despicable act of violence and the attempt to shift blame onto some external force filled me with anger and frustration.

It is deeply disappointing to see individuals refuse to take accountability for their actions and instead blame a mystical figure like the devil. The truth is, there is no devil. It all comes down to the choices we make as individuals.
