Anyone in the Arab American community who thinks that not voting for Biden to make a statement about Gaza is a good idea is simply deluding themselves. As much as I wish Biden had taken a stronger stance on Israel’s actions, the reality is that Trump would be a thousand times worse. Growing up in Ireland, I have always cherished the sense of community and belonging that comes with living in the Gaeltacht, the Irish-speaking area of our country. However, in recent years, I have noticed a troubling trend that is affecting an entire generation of young people in the Gaeltacht – the inability to buy a house or even find a place to rent in our own area. The reason? The proliferation of Airbnb listings that have taken over the housing market, leaving many of us without a place to call our own.
