So much of conservative culture is “cool guy badass aesthetic” and “cops are awesome all of a sudden because BLM are brown terrorists”
There is no logic. There is no thought process. It’s gut reactions and slapping loud messages on muh truck.
Anti-government but pro-militias-that-enforce-the-government-they’re-against
Anti big government except when it comes to a huge ass military, huge police forces, controlling a person woman’s body, government hand outs to the rich, government interfering with an election if it helps them win, strictly patrolled boarders, and Im sure there are more

She’s one of the worst extremist politicians out there. Everything Democratic is communism, every Democrat is a socialist, every bill not brought forth by Republicans is wasteful, illegal, blah blah blah. She insists on voting No on anything put forth by Democrats, just because it’s from Dems. Yet everyone knows if Republicans put forth the same bill, she’d be screaming for it to be passed. She is a grifter, a fearmonger, a hypocrite and a bigot. We knew their infrastructure was crap when Harvey happened. Now this. My dad is still talking about “add DC and we will secede” and “Texas will have its own refinery and oil and jobs and wealth” and I clapped back that he better call his state representatives to pull that hand back for federal aid. One thing Texans always brags about is how they have their own independent power grid. How’s that working out?
Well, the point was to avoid regulations that would force them to do things like winterize their system.
like last 20-30 years new. Americans always had their disagreements but in the past most people could at least agree on the problems we needed to address. Now we can’t agree on the problems much less the solutions.
Polarization in the house:
There was always a lot of polarization and differences – they were just regional in the past. And not tied to party affiliation, either. A Democrat in Alabama would be quite different than a Democrat in New York City. Probably more different than Democrats and Republicans in the same state.
